Crysis 2 isn't going to be released for about another month and a half but yesterday the full version of Crysis 2 was released online which supposedly includes the full singleplayer as well as multiplayer. I have no plan to test out whether this is true or not. It's not currently known who leaked this online but EA released a statement a few hours after the leak was discovered.
"Crytek has been alerted that an early incomplete, unfinished build of Crysis 2 has appeared on Torrent sites. Crytek and EA are deeply disappointed by the news. We encourage fans to support the game and the development team by waiting and purchasing the final, polished game on March 22. Crysis 2 is still in development and promises to be the ultimate action blockbuster as the series’ signature Nanosuit lets you be the weapon as you defend NYC from an alien invasion. Piracy continues to damage the PC packaged goods market and the PC development community."
As an avid video game player, it sucks to hear this. Crytek has made some great games and I can only hope this leak doesn't hurt the sales of Crysis 2. If anything, I hope the attention they get from this causes more sales.
Hmm, weird, maybe you should check the whole internet to see if you can find that leaked version.

ReplyDeleteI have tried the beta version that was leaked. There are quite a few bugs but it does looks like it will be a great game. I'll definitely buy the retail version when it is released next month.

ReplyDeletewell i dont think the leak itself will hurt anything but the phrase "packaged goods" will refer to dl content you have to buy after you buy crysis 2. In my book dl content thats not free is absolute bs

ReplyDeleteI suspect if game studios werent so greedy and kept jacking their rates then games sales would be higher. but its a question of the chicken vs the egg. which came first.
